During this phase of the PHENOTYPOS project, pilots are being implemented within WP8.2 and WP9. The work focuses on screening for the most effective bio-stimulants for enhancing lettuce Selenium biofortification in Lactuca sativa (lettuce) and the valorisation of PHENOTYPOS Platform-generated Data in Commercial Vegetable Production which will lead to the formulation of Best Practices.
In the PHENOTYPOS greenhouse, lettuce plants are being monitored under different treatments using automated sensing, irrigation, and environmental control systems. Real-time physiological and image-based data are being collected to screen which bio-stimulants show the most promising responses. In parallel, field trials are taking place under commercial conditions at Alion. Together, greenhouse screening and field validation represent a critical link between controlled experimentation and practical application, supporting data-driven decisions for improved crop quality, resilience and nutritional value.
