ACCESS-Kazakhstan

Assistance in Clean Coal and Environmentally sound Storage Solutions

ACCESS was funded by the European Union to build capacity in Kazakhstan on Clean Coal Technologies and Carbon Capture and Storage. The project is set up in the light of the framework of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Co-operation in the field of Energy” between the European Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed in December 2006. The project was implemented in the period 2011-2012.

ATLANTIS was responsible for assessing existing emission rates and air quality against National, EU and UN standards, for evaluating the capacity of pollution control technologies to achieve conformance to emission standards and for the assessment of the impact of various air pollution control technologies on ambient air quality.
